Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how you use the site. We also use browser localStorage, which works similarly but stores data directly in your browser rather than being sent with every request.
2. Cookies we use
The table below lists all cookies and local storage items used on carddeckr.com:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| carddeckr_session | Essential | Identifies your session for cart tracking and checkout | 30 days |
| sb-*-auth-token | Essential | Supabase authentication token — keeps you signed in | Session / refresh |
| cookie_consent | Essential | Remembers whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies | Persistent |
| carddeckr_cart | Essential | Local storage — saves your cart contents for offline access | Persistent |
| _ga / _ga_* | Analytics | Google Analytics 4 — anonymous page-view and event tracking | Up to 2 years |
| _gid | Analytics | Google Analytics — distinguishes unique visitors | 24 hours |
| ph_* | Analytics | PostHog — product analytics, session replay and error tracking (EU-hosted, IP address not collected) | Up to 1 year |
3. Essential cookies
Essential cookies are required for the website to function correctly. They enable core features such as authentication, shopping cart functionality, and session management. These cookies cannot be disabled — without them, the site would not work. They do not collect any personally identifiable information for marketing purposes.
4. Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies are only loaded if you accept non-essential cookies via the consent banner shown on your first visit. We use:
- •Google Analytics 4 (GA4) via Google Tag Manager — anonymous page-view and event tracking to understand which pages are visited and how long users stay.
- •PostHog (EU-hosted) — product analytics, session replay with all form inputs masked, and client/server-side error tracking. We have disabled IP address collection and all form inputs are masked in session recordings.
These tools help us identify bugs and improve the user experience. Analytics cookies do not identify you personally.
5. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services that appear on our pages. We do not control these cookies. The third parties we work with include:
- •Google (Analytics & Tag Manager) — anonymous usage statistics, loaded only with your consent.
- •PostHog (EU) — product analytics, session replay and error tracking, loaded only with your consent. EU-hosted with IP collection disabled.
- •Stripe — our payment processor may set cookies during checkout to prevent fraud and process payments securely.
- •Cloudflare — our hosting and CDN provider may set security cookies (e.g. __cf_bm) to distinguish humans from bots and protect against attacks.
Each third party processes data under their own privacy and cookie policies.
6. How to manage cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- •Consent banner — when you first visit carddeckr.com, a banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is saved and can be changed by clearing your browser's local storage.
- •Browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Check your browser's help documentation for instructions.
- •Google Analytics opt-out — install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Please note that blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the website from functioning correctly (e.g. you may not be able to sign in or complete a purchase).
7. How to delete cookies
To delete cookies already stored on your device:
- •Cookies — go to your browser's settings and clear cookies for carddeckr.com.
- •Local storage — open your browser's Developer Tools (F12), navigate to the Application or Storage tab, and clear local storage for carddeckr.com.
Deleting cookies will sign you out and reset your cookie consent preference. Your cart contents will be restored from the server the next time you sign in.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this cookie policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page with an updated date. For details on how we handle your personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
